One of the best things about starting out as a beginner investor is that it's so easy to make money and the returns are typically quite large. Like anything in life that is new, it's hard for the beginner, but after some success and experience, everyone that looks back realizes that those early days were so easy.

The reason why investing as an activity is so easy at the low seed capital level of around $450 dollars is because the returns are always bigger at that level. You can easily double $450 dollars in a week if you put your mind to it and i'll give you some examples now. But it doesn't get hard really until the $10,000 level.

$450 dollars can easily be doubled as soon as you realize anything at all can be an investment. At this price level there is little to lose and so you can afford to be aggressive. Losing $450 dollars although a sad experience, you can recover within a week or so just working in a job. Losing $100,000 on the other hand and you've a hard time recovering and bouncing back from that. So being prudent later is good, but being aggressive in your investment activity is crucial because not only are the returns greater, but so is the learning curve. You learn much more with action then from thinking.

So my advice is to go out and study a local market. Whether it's a mountain bike or a ming vase, it doesn't matter, what matters is that you comprehend the current market value of the object you intend to buy and make absolutely sure when you do find one, that you buy it for well below the current market value. Then simply turn around and resell it for a profit.
